MEMBERSHIP
This group is an affiliate of the Alliance for New Jersey Environmental Education (ANJEE).
Its purpose is networking and support for the use and development of outdoor classrooms.
Members of the organization represent state government (NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife, NJ Division
of Parks & Forestry), private conservation groups, private, state and county environmental education centers,
and private and public schools. Workshops are offered by the Division of Fish & Wildlife to introduce teachers
to habitat management and activities to use with students to teach them about wildlife and habitat. There is
also a certification program for schoolyard habitats, with an on-line applications form. Teachers interested
in networking with other schoolyard habitat practitioners can request information about schools in their area.
Membership requirements:
1.) Membership in ANJEE.
2.) Attandance at one or more WILD School Sites workshops.
3.) Willingness to share your experiences, knowledge and enthusiasm with others.

WILD School Sites
WORKSHOPS
Have you ever dreamed of creating an outdoor classroom, a butterfly garden, or creating a pond, trail or wildlife habitat? The Outdoor Classroom Network of New Jersey and the NJDEP's Division of Fish & Wildlife are dedicated to helping teachers develop their dream through service-learning with their students. These workshops provide educators with the necessary tools and resources to get started, focusing on grant writing, native specie selection, design aspects, curriculum lessons to involve students in the planning, and more.
WORKSHOP Highlights:
- Share ideas, resources, problems and expertise.
- Get information on other successful projects.
- Mentoring is available for teachers who need help getting started.
- Curriculum lessons to engage students actively in the planning of their outdoor classroom.
- Grant writing tools and invaluable ideas for getting that grant!
Registration deadline is one week prior to each workshop.
Participants will receive from 4 to 6 NJDOE Professional
Development Credits for attending.
