These sites do not require full site descriptions; nevertheless, they are included here to be consistent with the "Known Contaminated Sites in New Jersey" report. Berkeley Road Groundwater ContaminationHopatcong Borough, Sussex County This site did not meet Immediate Environmental Concern site criteria and is awaiting assignment for source identification. This site is a suspected source for the East Hanover Township Regional Ground Water Contamination site. NJDEP is planning to address all potential sources to this regional site in a prioritized manner. Fish Factory Little Egg Harbor Township, Ocean County
NJDEP excavated and decontaminated underground fuel oil piping and removed approximately 18,000 gallons of oil and 195 drums of contaminated soil from this site between late 1995 and early 1996. A Point-of-Entry Treatment System was installed by the Division of Publicly Funded Site Remediation. The site is awaiting assignment for a Remedial Investigation. Livingston Township Water Well #11 Livingston Township, Essex County
This case did not meet the criteria for an Immediate Environmental Concern. It has been forwarded to the Bureau of Environmental Measurements and Site Assessment for source identification. Lusardi Cleaners Rockaway Borough, Morris County
This site will be addressed separately from the Rockaway Borough Well Field Superfund site in State Fiscal Year 1998 by USEPA and the publicly funded division. SL Modern Chrome Service Pennsauken Township, Camden County
This site is a suspected source for the Camden City Water Department Puchak Well Field ground water contamination. Since all other source sites for the Puchak Well Field are being handled by the Division of Responsible Party Site Remediation, this site is awaiting transfer to the responsible party division. Upper
Deerfield Township Sanitary Landfill Superfund Site
NJDEP installed a water line in 1986 to address off-site ground water contamination from this site. USEPA issued a Record of Decision in 1991 for no further action based on the findings of a Remedial Investigation. However, work is still required under solid waste closure regulations and is being handled by NJDEP's Division of Solid Waste Management. The Township is conducting long-term monitoring of the ground water under an Administrative Consent Order with USEPA.
Wildwood
City Pump Station The potable supply well has been taken out of service. This site is awaiting assignment for additional investigation.
