The
director is charged with the management of New
Jersey water supplies through two bureaus:
The
Director's Office is also responsible for developing
long term water supply strategies. A Drought
Management Program is administered as needed
in response to periods of abnormally low precipitation.

The Director's staff also provides advice
and staff support to Governor James E. McGreevey's
representative on the Delaware
River Basin Commission, which has extensive
water resource management authority within the Delaware
River Basin. The Commission is composed of New Jersey,
New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware, portions of
which form the Delaware River Basin, and the Federal
government.
The staff of the Director's Office are: John
F. Burke, Budget and Administration, Joseph Miri,
Ph.D., Policy Analysis, Stephen Doughty, Policy
Analyst.
