Volunteer Monitoring

"Converting Data Into Information to Initiate Local Changes "
November 2 and 3, 2006
at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, in partnership with the Watershed Watch Network and Monmouth University, is host to this annual two-day event which will feature two of our national volunteer monitoring partners, Eleanor Ely and Robert Carlson. NJDEP Commissioner Lisa P. Jackson will also present as this year's keynote speaker. This year's theme is Converting Data into Information to Initiate Local Changes. Presentations will include projects, programs and outreach tools that have been effective in meeting program goals and initiating change. Come learn about monitoring techniques, how to use the new web-based data system, managing volunteers and monitoring efforts at the local, state and federal levels.

For more information, please contact Danielle Donkersloot at 609-292-2113 or danielle.donkersloot@dep.state.nj.us. To register online visit the Rutgers Office of Continuing Professional Education website. The cost for this two-day event is $50.
