The Office of Consumer Finance regulates 16 types of businesses that provide a variety of consumer financial services.

The Office of Consumer Finance also enforces statutes and regulations that protect New Jersey consumers in financial services matters. Through its Consumer Services Bureau, the Office of Consumer Finance responds to consumer inquiries and investigates complaints regarding New Jersey state-chartered financial institutions and all licensees regulated by the Division of Banking.

Delay in Reporting of Fingerprint Results

The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance has been advised that a technical issue has occurred which has affected the transmittal of fingerprint results to the Department.  This issue is causing a delay in the processing of all licenses that require criminal history review/fingerprints.
