Temporary Public Adjuster Sublicensee Information
 

In response to the State of Emergency declared by Governor Christie on October 27, 2012, the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance will issue Temporary Public Adjuster Sublicenses.

A licensed public adjuster shall sponsor the temporary sublicensee who shall be its agent and work under its direct supervision.  The sponsoring public adjuster shall bear full responsibility for the actions of its temporary sublicensee undertaken in the course of acting as a public adjuster.  The sponsoring public adjuster shall ensure that the temporary sublicense complies with the Public Adjuster Act and regulations. The sublicense will be valid for an initial period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the declaration of the catastrophic loss occurrence.

Requirements:

  • Sublicense applicant must complete sublicense application and attach the following: proof of licensing in another state or proof of five years employment experience as a public adjuster in any state; and, evidence that the individual sublicense is covered by a bond in accordance with N.J.A.C. 11:1-37.9
  • Sponsor must sign Sponsor’s Statement
  • Attach fee- $150.
