What You Should Know About This School

Holland Township School contains grades preK-8 with a total of 672 students. It is located in Hunterdon County, bordered by the Delaware and Musconetcong Rivers. Holland Township School features:

Academic Rigor

• Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students are engaged in integrated units. Each grade level has developed four integrated units fostering continuity of learning, and problem solving. The units are assessed through a performance rubric. Examples of units include Peace, Journey through Time, and Discovery.

Developmental Responsiveness

• The school utilizes student led conferences. Students assemble work samples and discuss goals, work products, and behavior. The school provides students with a checklist and planner for use during the conferences. Parents/guardians are encouraged to set goals with their child.
• Students in seventh and eighth grade serve as peer helpers who assist younger students by acting as buddies for strength, support, and guidance.

Social Equity

• The school was recognized by the New Jersey Association of Student Councils with a Community Smile Award, amassing over 6600 hours of community service.
• The school provides a luncheon each month to honor students that exemplify the character traits of Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Persistence. Students are recognized with a “garbage-free” lunch served by their administrators.

Organizational Structures
The school utilizes a duty free period to provide ongoing professional development, hold weekly curriculum meetings and hold Intervention and Referral Service Team meetings and Child Study Team Meetings.
