Curriculum & Assessment
The original Curiosity Corner was developed by the Success for All Foundation in response to the Abbott decision. The program was piloted in the winter of 1999 and then implemented and evaluated in 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. The curriculum provided a developmental approach emphasizing language and literacy, as well as physical, emotional and interpersonal development, math, science, social studies, music, movement and art. (Success for All Foundation, 2005). The curriculum comes with a script for teachers, making it easy to use for new teachers. Curiosity Corner 2nd Edition is now available. This new edition features the use of media as well as new materials, assessments, and professional development. The new edition also provides specific strategies to connect learning experiences at home and in school. Curiosity Corner still covers nine domains - personal, interpersonal, language and literacy, mathematics, cognitive, science, social studies, creative, and physical and is aligned with the revised preschool standards.
