INTRODUCTION

The Governor’s Awards in Arts Education (GAAE) are designed to promote awareness and appreciation for the arts by honoring:

    • individual students (grades 9 through 12) and students who are classified, (age 14 - 21), who have achieved national/state recognition in the arts and attend public or nonpublic schools in New Jersey, and;
    • leaders in arts education who have demonstrated excellence and dedication in arts education (kindergarten through grade 12).

This guidebook contains a list of approved programs that nominate educators and students for the Governor’s Awards in Arts Education. The list is a resource provided by the Governor’s Awards in Arts Education Planning Council. Individuals interested in qualifying for these awards must contact the sponsors directly.
