Rubrics

The approach of the assessment piece for the model curriculum in Health and Physical Education
was to develop rubrics that could be used with the sample activities/assessments or with activities/assessment s that have been developed by the school district.  Educators will find that the rubrics will assist them in measuring student performance in both Health and Physical Education with the intent of improving how we assess students.
The rubrics are broken down by grade level to measure proficiency of the grade banded student learning objectives.  Each rubric consists of three performance levels which will be used to measure competency in each unit.

The sample rubrics may be used with the sample activities/assessments or with the district developed activities/assessments for each unit in the model health and physical education curriculum to help ensure quality instruction.
