Recruitment Initiative Begins New Round of Troops to Teachers Presentations

The Department of Education’s Recruitment Initiative staff are planning to participate in five separate recruitment activities over the next month. All of the activities will promote the Troops to Teachers Program in New Jersey.

The events are scheduled as follows:

  • Friday, April 8: Rutgers University Math Fair, Busch Campus, Piscataway, New Jersey, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 9: National Minority Recruitment Job Fair, New York Marriott Brooklyn Bridge, 333 Adams Street, Brooklyn, New York, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 20: Fort Dix / McGuire Air Force Base, Fort Dix, New Jersey, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 21: Military Officers Association of America Job Fair, The Washington DC Convention Center, Washington, DC, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Troops to Teachers is a national program designed to promote teaching to retired members of the military. Retired soldiers, sailors and pilots who meet eligibility requirements are shown how they can have a second career in the classroom.
