Seats Open for "Safe, Disciplined and Drug-Free Schools Promising Programs"

Seats are still available for the DOE’s "Safe, Disciplined and Drug-Free Schools Promising Programs Showcase" this Tuesday, May 17, in Atlantic City.

The program takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The conference is funded by the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and features 33 programs that have proven successful. There is no fee to attend.

"Anytime we can share success stories and brainstorm about what works and what doesn’t work, we’ll take it," said Assistant Commissioner Isaac Bryant, who will open the conference on Tuesday. "This is a great opportunity to learn and we hope people take advantage of it."

The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Ed Dunkelblau, director of the Institute for Emotionally Intelligent Learning. A criminal psychologist and a past president of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor, Dr. Dunkelblau will be discussing prevention research.
