DOE Continues Professional Development Workshop Series
Dr. Roland S. Barth will be the keynote speaker next Tuesday, Oct. 25, for the second in a series of nine professional development workshops in the Northern Region.
Dr. Barth is the author of six education books, including "Improving Schools from Within," the workshop's theme. The event will be held at the Passaic County Public Safety Academy, 300 Oldham Road in Wayne, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The session is full. However, reporters are encouraged to cover the workshop and Dr. Barth's presentation.
Dr. Barth is an international educational consultant in leadership and professional development and a former teacher, principal and faculty member at the Harvard School of Education. There, he co-founded the Harvard Principal's Center, an organization dedicated to helping principals and other school leaders improve student performance and overall school success.
Dr. Barth has a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and earned both his master's and doctoral degrees from Harvard University.

In addition to the Northern Region workshops, the DOE's Central and Southern regions are hosting several professional development workshops this fall.
The workshops are all intended to help educators with a variety of professional development issues, ranging from math and reading to International Education and increasing parental involvement.
