New Jersey Special Education and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Task Force To hold Public hearing on October 23, 2012

The New Jersey Special Education and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Task Force will conduct a public hearing on October 23, 2012, at the Learning Resource Center – Central, 200 River View Plaza, Trenton, NJ. The purpose is to provide the general public with an opportunity to present their ideas and personal experiences for the task force to consider as it compiles information for its report to the Governor early next year. The task force is a group that was established by the Legislature to: study and evaluate instructional practices and strategies that improve recognition of, and benefit students with traumatic brain injuries of all types, ranging from mild to severe; address the needs of students with TBI; study and evaluate practices that prepare students with TBI for college or a career; and examine the ways in which current state policies affect this population.
The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., will be held in the conference room on the first floor of the building. Parking is available and directions can be found at: http://www.state.nj.us/education/lrc/dir2lrcc.pdf.
Members of the public who would like to present oral testimony will be granted three minutes each so that all participants can be heard. Members of the public are asked to bring printed copies of their remarks to the hearing.
