Jumpstart's Read for the Record Campaign Visit to Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center
photoAlt Today I participated in Jumpstart’s “Read for the Record” campaign. I joined many celebrities, dignitaries, and volunteers across the nation in reading “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats to preschool and kindergarten children. I was fortunate to be hosted by the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center (DDDC). The center serves children ages 3-21 who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. The children took great delight in telling me their stories of playing in the snow. I really appreciated having the opportunity to learn about DDDC and spending time with the children during their school day.
