Twenty students from throughout the state will each be receiving a $5,000 scholarship to pursue post-secondary education opportunities. The winners were chosen from a pool of over 700 applicants from across the state. These students serve as role models to their peers and exhibit extraordinary leadership skills. Most importantly, they have a demonstrated commitment to volunteerism and community contribution.
Mrs. Christie launched the scholarship program earlier this year in February and worked with of the Secretary of Higher Education, the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) and the Department of Education to promote the scholarship through college fairs as well as through high school guidance offices/counselors.
