Mrs. Christie and her daughter, Sarah, were invited to take a tour of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. The Community FoodBank’s vision is to be the leader in raising awareness of hunger and poverty in NJ. They look to bring all sectors of society together to provide short-term responses and long-term solutions. Today the FoodBank distributes over 23 million pounds of food and groceries a year, ultimately service 1,656 non-profit programs, including 436 programs served by its Partner Distribution Organizations. Through their combined efforts, they assist 750,000 low-income people in 18 of New Jersey’s 21 counties.
