Customer Advisory: MVC Facility and Services Update for November 3

Trenton, NJ – Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) customers are advised that the following additional agencies and inspection stations will resume service as of November 3:

  • South Plainfield Agency
  • Washington Agency
  • Rahway Inspection Station
  • Washington Inspection Station

The following agencies remain closed until further notice:

  • Flemington
  • Freehold
  • Hazlet
  • Jersey City
  • Lakewood
  • Somerville
  • South Brunswick
  • Springfield
  • Toms River

    • Freehold
    • Paramus
    • South Brunswick
    • Bakers Basin
    • Cherry Hill
    • Lodi
    • Miller Air Park
    • Rahway
    • Wayne
  • The following inspection stations remain closed until further notice:

    The MVC is presently contacting customers to reschedule driver tests (written/road), driver conferences and specialty vehicle inspections that were previously scheduled for October 29 through November 3.
    The MVC will begin conducting scheduled CDL road testing at the following locations on Saturday, November 3:

    All other scheduled road testing will resume on Monday, November 5.
    The following Administrative Orders were previously issued by MVC Chairman and Chief Administrator Raymond P. Martinez. They are available on the MVC website at www.njmvc.gov

    Administrative Order 2012-03
    Authorizes a 30-day extension for all driver's licenses, vehicle registrations and vehicle inspection stickers that expired on October 31, 2012.

    Administrative Order 2012-04
    Authorizes a temporary waiver of IRP/IFTA requirements.

    Administrative Order 2012-05
    Provides an International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) penalty waiver to those individuals and businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy.

    Administrative Order 2012-06
    Authorizes an extension until November 30, 2012 for temporary vehicle registration tags (temp tags) that expire between November 1 and November 9, 2012.
    For individuals and businesses with motor vehicles and boats that were damaged or destroyed during Hurricane Sandy, they may find salvage title information on the MVC’s website at http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Vehicle/SpecialVehicles.htm.
