The following are directions for individuals applying for “reciprocity” at the EMT-Basic level ONLY.
If you are a Paramedic applying for “reciprocity” you must contact the Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) project for which you are attempting to gain employment. New Jersey does not have volunteer Advanced Life Support (ALS) providers. All projects that provide ALS services are paid entities. Directions:
- www.njoemscert.com will navigate you to our certification platform (Learning Management System (LMS)). Once you are there you must do the following. If these instructions are not followed completely and accurately, it may cause a delay or the possibility of your application not being processed at all.
- Click on the link: “I need to create an account” Create an account by following the instructions. (Make note of you six digit ID number) If your Social Security Number is not accepted during application, then you already have an existing account in the NJOEMS LMS. Users who are already present in the NJOEMS LMS can retrieve their User ID by searching the License Look-Up page or calling OEMS. Under no circumstance should an applicant submit a Social Security Number that is not their own.
- Click on the link for “Reciprocity Application”.
- Complete the reciprocity application as instructed.
- Print out the reciprocity approval form.
- Click on the link: “Reciprocity Instructions for LMS” and follow the step by step instructions.
- Once we receive the completed requirements there is a three to four week processing time that is subject to change.
