Builds core and leadership competencies in the local public health workforce via traditional and distance learning.
Supports the implementation of Practice Standards workforce development requirements for health officers, registered environmental health specialists, public health nurses, and health educators to complete discipline-specific competency development.

8:52-8.4 Workforce continuing education , Chapter 52, requires provision of coordinated program of continuing education for staff which includes attendance at seminars, workshops, conferences, in-service training, and/or formal courses to improve skills and knowledge in accordance with their professional needs.
