DHSS Announces Cumulative Number of Civil Unions Received


 

 

The Department of Health and Senior Services has received 219 civil union license applications from local registrars as of March 19, 2007, according to the New Jersey Registrar’s Office of Vital Statistics.

DHSS has also received 10 reaffirmations of civil unions that were previously performed in other states.

 

These numbers reflect only the number of applications received by DHSS to date and not the total number of civil union ceremonies performed in New Jersey since February 19, 2007, when civil unions became legal in New Jersey.
