On Tuesday, December 13 New Jersey Health and Senior Services Commissioner Mary E. O’Dowd will visit NJ Sharing Network in New Providence to tour their testing laboratory and meet with organ recipients and donor families. Commissioner O’Dowd will remind residents that the holidays are the perfect time to consider the difference they can make in the lives of others by becoming organ and tissue donors.

The tour will begin at 10:30 at the NJ Sharing Network, 691 Central Avenue, New Providence.

Across the nation there are more than 100,000 people waiting to receive a life-saving organ transplant and more than 4,700 of them are New Jerseyans.  Currently, 32 percent of New Jersey residents registered as donors.
