- New Jersey Health and Senior Services Commissioner George T. DiFerdinando,
Jr., M.D., today said his department has been staffing a telephone
line at the state's Emergency Operations Center to address bioterrorism
concerns from members of the health care community and the public.
The
bioterrorism phone line, 609-538-6030, is open from 8 a.m. to 11
p.m. seven days a week until further notice. The number has received
about 840 phone calls since it became operational Friday, October
12. Calls after hours should be made to 609-392-2020.
In
addition, Dr. DiFerdinando said information on the state's bioterrorism
preparedness and response plan, physician information and advice
for mail handlers is available on the department's website at www.state.nj.us/health.
