TRENTON
- The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services will hold
three public hearings on proposed changes to the New Jersey Early
Intervention System Federal Part C Application. The Division of
Family Health Services uses federal Part C funds to provide early
intervention services for eligible children with developmental delays
and disabilities, birth to age three, and their families.
The
department is seeking the public's input on proposed changes to
the implementation of the early intervention system under Part C
of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Proposed
changes to specific pages of the application include central directory,
personnel standards and policies related to financial matters. Additional

The
hearings are scheduled as follows:
March
22, 2002 Medical Society of NJ 2:00 to 3:30 PM
March 26, 2002 Gloucester County Health Department 10:00 to 11:30
AM
April 5, 2002 Wayne Public Library 10:00 to 11:30 AM
Individuals
wishing to testify in person are asked to call the department's
Early Intervention System at (609) 777-7734, to schedule a time.
They are also asked to supply a written copy of their testimony
at the hearing.
For
persons unable to appear to testify, written copies of testimony
will be accepted through April 22, 2002, at the Department of Health
and Senior Services, Early Intervention System, P.O. Box 364, Trenton
NJ 08625-0364.
