Youth Camps

All New Jersey youth camps must register annually with the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Service's (NJDHSS) Public Health Sanitation and Safety Program. Inspections of youth camps are conducted by both the NJDHSS and local departments of health. Please consult the guidance document [pdf 49k] for more information.

Public Recreational Bathing (swimming pools, hot tubs, spas, waterfronts)

Inspections of public recreational bathing facilities (including swimming pools, lakes, rivers, streams, tidal bays, and ocean swimming facilities) are conducted by local departments of health.

Inspections of all public recreational bathing facilities located in New Jersey state parks are conducted by the NJDHSS' Public Health Sanitation and Safety Program.

Public Campgrounds

Inspections of public campground facilities (including the swimming facilities of the campground) are conducted by local departments of health.
