The course is divided into six modules, each addressing a different concern for a flu pandemic. The entire course takes under two hours to complete and can be stopped and started at any time. It is best to complete the modules in the order that they are presented.
Within each module there are two or three short quizzes. The purpose of these quizzes is to reinforce the information you have just seen. There is also a Final Quiz at the end of the program along with an Answer Key to check your responses and grade your quiz. Your graded Final Quiz is proof of course completion, if your employer requests it.
Upon the completion of this course, we hope you will:
- understand the impact a flu pandemic may have in a community and what community leaders may need to do to reduce the impact
- be able to develop a Pandemic Flu Personal Emergency Plan
- know how to reduce your risk of getting the flu and spreading it to others
- know how to provide flu care at home
- understand where you can get help for the emotional stress a flu pandemic may cause
- know how to identify reliable sources of public health information
The print version can be:
- read online
- printed out
- downloaded onto CDs
- downloaded onto an organization’s intranet
The multimedia version will consist of a narrated slide presentation with many photos. It can be:
- taken as an online course
- downloaded onto CDs
- downloaded onto an organization’s intranet
However the multimedia course is taken, be sure your computer's speakers are on so you can hear the narration. An important note about resource documents:
The resource documents provided with this program appear in PDF format within the drop-down resources tab in each multimedia module. Likewise, they are attached in PDF format at the end of each print module.
The resource documents also are listed as URLs at the end of each module. Since there is no way to notify you when changes have been made to the resource documents, we suggest that you check their URLs every now and then for updates. |
