The adolescent substance abuse treatment task force will focus on exploring and making recommendations related to the following main issues: Evidenced-Based Treatment and Outcomes, Workforce Development and Competent Treatment Network, and Integrating Adolescent Systems.

In addition to representatives from the Department of Children and Families (DCF), the Juvenile Justice Commission (JJC), the Department of Education (DOE), the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the counties, the Adolescent Task Force members are:

The Task Force will also convene in smaller subcommittees. Each subcommittee will meet 3-4 times between January and June 2009. Each subcommittee will submit a final paper summarizing key points of their discussions, and identify specific actionable recommendations that can be implemented that will lead to a more competent system. The recommendations will be taken into consideration in planning DAS’ ongoing workplan.
