Consumer & Recovery Advocate
As part of its recovery services, the Division helps integrate the voice of the consumer into DAS operations through the Citizen’s Advisory Council which advises DAS as to the multiple interests of consumers of substance abuse prevention and treatment services. The CAC is facilitated by staff in the Office of Treatment and Recovery Support.
The Division provides educational and training initiatives to promote understanding of addiction as a chronic disease and to help overcome resistance to the use of medications in evidence based prevention, treatment and recovery practices.
