Mutual Agreement Program (MAP)
The Mutual Agreement Program (MAP) is designed to provide substance abusing inmates and parolees with the opportunity to receive structured, community based substance abuse treatment that introduces intensive therapy for behavioral and psychological problems related to addiction. The Division of Addiction Services (DAS) manages MAP through a Memorandum of Agreement between the Department of Corrections (DOC) and the State Parole Board (SPB). Funding is a combination of direct appropriations to DAS transferred from the DOC and SPB to support a fee-for-service network of licensed community-based alcohol and drug treatment programs that offer long-term residential and halfway house treatment beds for parolees and long-term residential treatment for inmates pending parole. Additionally, the program funds six (6) specialized outpatient programs for parolees.
