The New Jersey Departments of Community Affairs (DCA) and Human Services (DHS) along with the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency have launched a Special Needs Housing Partnership aimed at creating affordable, supportive housing for 600 people with developmental disabilities by June 2013. The initiative aligns with the State of New Jersey’s goal to help integrate people with special needs into the community whenever possible. Read more.
November 2011 - The Department of Community Affairs/Department of Human Services (DCA/DHS) review of the fire suppression system requirements resulted in the determination that a NFPA 13D fire sprinkler system may be installed in licensed community homes with five or fewer persons, one or more of whom cannot evacuate in three minutes or less.
