Are You Looking for Substance Abuse Treatment?
DMHAS has created a
searchable directory to assist in locating programs for alcohol and drug abuse treatment and related services in the State for adolescents and adults. The treatment directory can be searched by alphabet or name of treatment agency, by county, by municipality, by type of treatment services, type of care, special populations, type of funding and special initiatives.

You can also contact your County Drug and Alcohol Director to inquire about local treatment resources.

In addition, you can dial 1-844-276-2777 for the IME Addictions Access Center, which can provide information and referral to substance abuse treatment agencies statewide.  This free service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and information shared is confidential.

Part Two lists all community programs funded by the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and sorted by the County served. Part Three lists all of the programs, sorted by the type of program service.

How to File a Complaint About a NJ Substance Abuse Treatment Facility
 

To register a complaint regarding any substance abuse treatment facility in New Jersey, you may CALL TOLL FREE, 1 (877) 712-1868, during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and speak with your county's Coordinator.  After normal business hours, call the same toll free number and you may leave a message and your call will be returned by a Coordinator the next business day. 

If you wish to remain anonymous, you may.  However, it is preferable that you leave a first name and phone number so that a Coordinator will be able to contact you with any questions.  Your anonymity will be protected.  Your name will not be revealed to the facility unless you give permission to do so, and we will not leave a message on your phone unless you indicate that it is OK for someone to leave a message.

When an individual has any concerns about patient care and safety in the hospitals, the following steps should be taken:

1)  Contact the patient's unit team leader or program coordinator
2)  Contact the Section Chief of the unit
3)  Contact the Patient Representative

If the concerns have not been addressed by any of the above routes, the individual is encouraged to contact the Chief Executive Officer of the respective hospital:

If the concerns cannot be resolved through the hospital, the individual is encouraged to contact The Joint Commission by either calling 1-800-994-6610 or sending an e-mail to: complaint@jointcommission.org.
