The Chair of the Council is Sharon L. Weiner, Morristown (Appointed by Governor Chris Christie (D), term expires February 1, 2015), a partner at the law firm of Murphy McKeon, P.C., where she specializes in municipal and land use law.  She is currently the municipal attorney for the Township of Livingston, Assistant Counsel to the New Jersey League of Municipalities and immediate past chair of the Local Government Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Ms. Weiner was awarded a Diplomate in Local Government Law by the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys and  was named one of the top 50 business women in New Jersey by NJBIZ.

Sweeney, term expires February 1, 2014), Vice Chair of the Council, a Managing Director of Conner Strong Companies, LLC, Marlton, NJ.  A graduate of Lycoming College, with an MBA from Drexel University, Mr. Tarditi served in the municipal government of Haddonfield for over 27 years, as Borough Commissioner (1978 - 2005) and Mayor (1981 - 1997).  He was also Co-chair and Member of the Legislative Committee of the New Jersey State League of Municipalities and President of the New Jersey Conference of Mayors.  He currently serves on the boards of many private, public and community service organizations;

Leanna Brown, Chatham Borough (Appointed by Assembly Minority Leader John Bramnick, term expires February 1, 2014), Chair of Brown Global Enterprises and a syndicated Columnist and Political Commentator, who is also a member and former Chair of the New Jersey Advisory Committee to the US Commission on Civil Rights and a former Commissioner on the President's Commission on Civil Rights.  A graduate of Smith College, Ms. Brown previously served in the New Jersey State General Assembly (1980-1983) and Senate (1983-1993), and was a Commissioner on the New Jersey Casino Control Commission from 1993 until 1999;

Timothy Q. Karcher, Jersey City (Appointed by Speaker of the Assembly, Assemblywoman Sheila Y. Nirmal Mulye, Ph. D., Kendall Park (Appointed by Governor Chris Christie (D), term expires February 1, 2015), Founded Nostrum Pharmaceuticals, LLC. in 1995, which is involved in the development and commercialization of prescription pharmaceuticals utilizing Novel Drug Delivery Technologies.  Nostrum Laboratories, Inc., Symmetrix Biotech, Inc., Nostrum Technolgies, LLC, Nostrum Energy Inc., were started subsequently and are involved in research in various areas.  A graduate of Bombay University, with a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1985, and with a Ph. John K. Rafferty, Hamilton (Appointed by Governor Chris Christie, term expires February 1, 2015), Executive Director of The Hamilton Partnership, Hamilton, NJ.  A graduate of LaSalle College, with an Law Degree from the University of Kentucky, College of Law, Mr. Rafferty served in the municipal government of Hamilton Township for  30 years, as a Councilman (1970 - 1976), Public Safety Director (1990 - 2000) and as Mayor (1976 - 2000) and also served in the New Jersey State Assembly (1985 - 1987).  As a State Assemblyman, Mr. Rafferty served on three Legislative Committees, the Appropriations, Insurance and as Chair of the Municipal Legislative Committee.  Mr. Rafferty served as a GOP Delegate to 8 National Conventions, GOP New Jersey State Chairman for Ronald Reagan Primary (1980).  He served as President of the New Jersey Conference of Mayors (1985 - 1986), was elected as the New Jersey Conference of Mayors Mayor of the Year (1998) and inducted into the NJCM Hall of Fame (1999);

Hon. John A. Sweeney, Florence (Appointed by Chief Justice Stuart Rabner, term expires February 1, 2016), Assignment Judge of Burlington County from 2000 until his retirement in 2008.  A graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, Judge Sweeney previously served a term in the New Jersey General Assembly, was Chief Counsel to Governor Florio, and later Director of the Division of Gaming Enforcement.  Appointed to the bench in 1992, Judge Sweeney served in the Family, Civil, and Criminal Divisions and General Equity Part in the Burlington Vicinage, before being selected as Assignment Judge.  He is currently on the Board of Trustees of Virtua Health System and practices mediation and arbitration in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area with a Mount Holly law firm;

James J. Toolen, Waldwick (Appointed by Governor Chris Christie, term expires February 1, 2015), Co-Owner of Trace Environmental Systems. A graduate of Dominican College and recipient of the Alumni of Distinction for Leadership Award.  Jim served the Borough of Waldwick as a Council Member and as Mayor (1999-2003).  He is a member of the Dominican College Board of Trustees and is a past President and current member of the Waldwick Lions Club and the St. Luke's Council of the Knights of Columbus.  As Mayor, Jim helped establish the Waldwick Chamber of Commerce;

Janet L. Whitman, Summit (Appointed by Senate Minority Leader Thomas H. Kean, Jr., term expires February 1, 2014), Mayor of Summit from 1988 to 1995, who also served for six years as a member of that city's Common Council, and was President of the Union County League of Municipalities and a member of the Executive and Legislative Committees of the State League of Municipalities.  A graduate of Skidmore College, she is currently Chair of the Skidmore College Board of Trustees.
