TRENTON (May 23, 2013) – The New Jersey Lottery today announced that Giuseppe “Joe” Garofalo of Tinton Falls came forth as the New Jersey winner of the $198 million jackpot from the MEGA MILLIONS drawing held on May 17.  The lucky winner arrived this morning at Lottery Headquarters, and joins a winner in Virginia in sharing this jackpot.  Mr. Garofalo chose the cash option, which means he will receive $73,279,052 before 25% federal withholding and 3% state income tax.  He purchased $10.00 worth of tickets for the May 17 drawing at Kwik Farms, 590 Shrewsbury Ave., Tinton Falls, Monmouth County.  One of those quick pick selections provided the winning numbers for this drawing.  Those numbers were:  11, 15, 35, 43 and 49.  The Gold Mega Ball was 41, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 04.

Trenton , Mar. 5, 2013 – Governor Chris Christie has issued a Proclamation declaring March 2013 Problem Gambling Awareness Month in New Jersey . Throughout the month, the New Jersey Lottery (NJL) and the Department of Human Services Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) will be working with the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey, Inc. TRENTON (Feb. 28, 2013) - Carole Hedinger, NJ Lottery Executive Director, announced New Jersey's latest multi-million dollar Mega Millions jackpot winner, Angel Guallpa-Mayancela. Mayancela was the sole winner of the Mega Millions jackpot for the Friday, Jan. 25 drawing. By matching all five winning numbers along with the Gold Mega Ball number Mayancela won the $89 million annuity jackpot which equates to a $65.7 million cash payout. TRENTON – (Dec. 26, 2012) – The New Jersey Lottery announced that it will begin airing its live evening game draws on CBS-owned television stations, daily, beginning Jan. 1, 2013 at 7:57 pm. The daily drawing will air on CBS-owned stations WLNY-TV 10/55 in New York and The CW Philly 57(WPSG-TV). Viewers are asked to check their local cable listings for channel numbers.
