TO ALL UNLICENSED ALARM AND LOCKSMITH BUSINESSES
Your business must be licensed, as required by statute, to provide alarm, locksmith, and electronic security services in the State of New Jersey. Licenses are being issued in the following categories depending upon the services the business provides: Burglar Alarm Business (BX) The application fee for a Business License is $150.00. Once a business has been licensed, it will be required to provide the names of its employees and the duties the employees perform. A licensed business also will be asked to designate its employees as supervising/supervised or unsupervised. Applications with regard to employees will be sent to licensed businesses during the second phase of the business licensing process. Additional information about Business Licenses may be obtained by downloading the Advisory Committee regulations, also located on the Advisory Committee Laws and Regulations Website. For Locksmith businesses, refer to N.J.A.C. 13:31A-2.5 through N.J.A.C. 13:31A-2.8. For Alarm businesses, refer to N.J.A.C. 13:31A-3.4 through N.J.A.C. 13:31A-3.7. Pleased be advised that the continued operation of your business, without the appropriate business license, will result in the issuance of a cease and desist demand, as well as monetary penalties, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 45:1-23.
