Investigations and Prosecutions
The Division investigates
and prosecutes criminal activity of statewide significance. This
mandate includes organized criminal activates, crimes against state
agencies or programs, official corruption, environmental matters,
casino activates, narcotics trafficking, labor-related criminal
matters, and economic crimes such as investment fraud, security
and anti-trust violations, Medicaid and insurance fraud. Further,
the Division pursues civil forfeiture actions against criminals
in racketeering, organized crime and narcotics cases.
Every effort is
made to ensure cooperation between the Division and other law enforcement
agencies at the local, county, state and federal levels.
This high level of communication
has resulted in increased productivity and greater success in handling
the crimes that effect New Jersey's citizens.
