On September 15, 1980, Evan Lecakes and Debra Cohen were arrested for possession of slugs inside Resorts International Casino. Lecakes indicated he had purchased 500 slugs in New York City for $100. Lecakes was seen depositing three slugs in a slot machine. On December 19, 1980 both defendants pled guilty to 2C:21-18, possession of slugs, before Honorable Stephen Kaplan, J.M.C., in Atlantic City. Both Lecakes and Cohen were fined $250 and assessed $25 in court costs.
