NJ Army National Guard 63rd Army Band


Leaving the Enlisted ranks for Warrant Officer Candidate School, at Fort Rucker, Alabama, Durinda D. Garrison had decided to become the Commander of The 63rd army Band.

Upon her successful completion she received her appointment as Warrant Officer on August 4, 2000.

Chief Warrant Officer Garrison enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as an Oboist for the 276th Army Band in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1989. She has been a member of the 63rd Army Band since 1994 and was an Oboist and NCOIC of the 63rd Army Band Woodwind Quintet.

CW3 Garrison's awards include:
- The Army Commendation Medal
- Army Achievement Medal
- National Defense Service Medal
- NJNGAUS Senior Warrant Officer of the Year 2014
- NGAUS Senior Warrant Officer of the Year 2014

In civilian life, Mrs. Garrison teaches Special Education in Hamilton Township Public Schools. She serves as Instrumental and Hand Bell Conductor at the First Presbyterian Church, Hamilton Square, New Jersey. She is an active freelance Musician in the Philadelphia and Trenton area.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from The College of New Jersey in 1988.
