Youth Camp 2019

Youth Camp 2019 will be our 25th year holding Camp by the beautiful beach at the NG Training Center in Sea Girt, NJ. Camp will be held 14 - 20 July 2019 for Campers/CITs ages 9-15. Counselors and Volunteers will need to be available 13 - 20 July 2019.

2019 Camp Theme – “Back to Basics”

ALL Counselor applications will be accepted until Tuesday, 30 April 2019.
--Counselor MANDATORY training will take place Saturday, 15 June 2019 at JMFAC in Bordentown Campers, CITs and Volunteers will be able to apply until midnight on Wednesday, 15 May 2019.

The New Jersey National Guard Youth Camp is organized by the Family Programs Office and is supported by the NJ National Guard Child & Youth program, as well as countless volunteers. We provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the youth of New Jersey Guard members. This is a week long, residential camp for military connected youth and teens.

You can expect a fun filled week of Sports, Arts & Crafts, Swimming, and Archery along with special activities highlighting Health & Fitness, Prevention Programs and Child Safety Education.


Camper Information:

9-12 year olds- We are accepting 100 youth that will be divided into 4 companies.

13 & 14 year olds- We are accepting 24 (12 male/ 12 female) that will be in 1 company.


Camper Tier System:

The camp will be open to children based on the following criteria:

Tier 1: Children/Legal dependents of a NJ National Guard member

Tier 2: Children/Legal dependents of Department of Military & Veterans Affairs employees and other uniform services

Tier 3: Other


15 year old Counselors in Training (CITs) Tier System:

ReviewTier 1:Teens who have participated in previous years at Youth Camp & Legal dependents of a NJ National Guard member

Tier 2: Teens who actively participate in Guard Teen Panel and other Child & Youth Program events/activities

Tier 3: Dependents of camp volunteers

**There will be 1 Company of CITs with 12 males & 12 females.
**Teens are required to answer questions when submitting their application.
**Teens will be notified of their status by 15 June 2019 via email.

Cost for each Camper and Counselor in Training (ages 9-15) is $175.00.


Cancelation/Refund Policy:

$100.00 refund if child cancels more than 14 days before camp, no refund if child cancels within 14 days of camp. If refund is required, the returned check will NOT be issued until the week after Youth Camp.


Junior Counselor Information:

Junior counselors are 16-17 years old and help the Senior Counselors run each company. We will have somewhere between 28-33 Junior Counselors. There is a requirement to have an approximate balance between male and female Junior Counselors so it is important you submit your completed applications sooner than later. Applicants will be accepted once they have submitted a completed application as well as have attended the training(s) required.

There is no cost for Junior Counselors.

Volunteers/Senior Counselor:

We are looking for Volunteers to help in running the camp and leading the various activities planned for the campers.

We want your children to meet new people and build friendships, understand the Guard and its mission, and experience life at a military camp.

Requirements to be a Volunteer

Senior & Junior Counselors are required to attend MANDATORY training on Saturday 15 June 2019 at JMFAC in Bordentown.

Acceptance Packets will NOT be mailed out this year. Instead, we will email Camp information to those accepted (ages 9-15) no later than 20 June 2019 so please make sure you have a good email address on file.
