(Legislative staff member Clarissa Martin delivered to the museum the complimentary Senate Resolutions for our interviewed veteran participants. Accepting is Monmouth University intern Vincent Gonzalez.)
The National Guard Militia Museum of New Jersey will be holding its annual Veterans Oral History Luncheon at the Manasquan B.P.O.E Lodge #2534 on November 20, 2013. The luncheon will honor participants in the oral history program from the museum’s post-Sandy reopening in April to the present. These veterans have served in conflicts from World War II through Operation Enduring Freedom and have already received DVD copies of their recorded interviews at the NG Museum in Sea Girt. At their luncheon, each will receive official New Jersey state senate resolutions commemorating their contributions.
The museum’s exhibit space will remain open during the luncheon. Veterans who wish to participate in the oral history program should call the museum at 732-974-5966 or visit the museum website’s Oral History Archive page. Sign up forms are also in the museum’s main gallery. The Library of Congress’ Veterans’ History Project receives the veteran collection, and this website contains just some of the summaries of the 499 interviewed veterans.
