Korean War Veterans To Receive Medals At 60th Anniversary
WHO/WHAT: Ray Zawacki, Deputy Commissioner for Veterans Affairs at New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, will present the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal and the New Jersey Korean Service Medal to Korean War Veterans during a Commemorative Ceremony on the 60th Anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice.
Retired Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Jeff Pierson and Northfield Mayor Vincent Mazzeo will be the guest speakers.
The ceremony features performances by Yang-Ji Presbyterian Church choir and a wreath laying ceremony with echo taps and bagpipes.

WHERE: New Jersey Korean War Memorial, Brighton Park @ Boardwalk, Atlantic City
Details: The Commemorative Ceremony, which is hosted annually by the New Jersey Korean War Veterans Association, will include a veteran medal ceremony hosted by New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. The medal ceremony is part of the State of New Jersey’s veterans outreach campaign, whose goal is to bring benefits information to ‘those who served' across the state.

The N.J. Distinguished Service Medal was originally issued in 1858 for those who distinguished themselves in the New Jersey Militia. It is New Jersey’s highest military award.
