New Jersey Army Guard To Break Ground For Aviation Building At Lakehurst
WHO/WHAT: Brig. Gen. Michael L. Cunniff, the Adjutant General, the leadership of the New Jersey National Guard and Congressman Jon Runyan (3rd District) will symbolically turn over the first shovelfuls of dirt to mark the start of construction for the modern maintenance and training facility for Army National Guard aviation units.

DETAILS: The new Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) provides a one-stop shop by consolidating aviation support under one roof. The facility will support the 1-150th Assault Helicopter Battalion activities associated with maintaining, mobility and readiness requirements. The new 143,602 square-foot facility will include: Five aircraft maintenance hangar bays (5 hangars with 10 bays), two unheated storage hangar bays, allied shops, repair parts and tools room, administrative and equipment storage areas, controlled waste handling facility and a simulation training area.
This new facility will enhance the 1-150th’s operational readiness and improve the New Jersey National Guard’s response to state and federal missions by providing the newest and most efficient aircraft maintenance and training support equipment.
