Burial at Sea

Burials at sea services are performed on naval vessels while deployed on official maneuvers. Due to operational commitments, allow a minimum of eight weeks for committal to take place. The commanding officer of the vessel will notify the family of the date, time, longitude and latitude of the committal.

Eligibility -

~ Members and retirees of the United States uniformed services.
~ Veterans discharged honorably or under honorable conditions.
~ United States civilian marine personnel of the Military Sealift Command.
~ Dependents of members, retirees and honorable discharged veterans of the United States uniformed services.
