The following instructions will help you schedule an inspection online. Click “Get Started” at any time to begin the process.

Inspection is available by appointment at 5 locations. Appointments must be scheduled at least one business day in advance:


Motorists presenting their vehicle for inspection at one of these stations without an appointment may experience a longer than average wait time.

All other inspection locations are on a first come, first serve basis. Confirm hours and locations before you leave. Inspection wait times are available by phone; call (888) 656-6867 then press 4 or view wait times on live inspection lane cams.

Choose a location

  • Select one of the following locations
  • If the location you need is not listed, the facility does not accept appointments and all vehicles will be serviced on a first come, first serve basis.
  • The Ridgewood facility was permanently closed on February 1, 2007. Motorists may use the Lodi or Paramus inspection facility.
  • Click “Next”

Select a date

  • Click a date from one of the calendars
  • If you cannot click on the box, there are no appointments available on that day
  • Refer to the legend to determine the location’s availability

Enter the information for a New Appointment

  • Select “Appointment Time”
  • Enter “First Name”
  • Enter “Last Name”
  • Enter “License Plate number”
  • Enter “Primary Phone”
  • Click “Finish”

Confirmation

  • This screen confirms that the appointment has been made
  • Print this screen for your records
