Pilot Vision Program

New Jersey licensed drivers are required to have 20/50 visual acuity in at least one eye with or without corrective lenses. Through periodic screening every ten years, this standard is verified and vision impairments identified.

The medical community has partnered with the Motor Vehicle Commission on pilot vision program to help ensure that New Jersey drivers meet the visual acuity standard. Health care providers will send vision screening results to the MVC for those patients who would like to participate in the program.
