MVC Chief Marks 100th Anniversary with Statewide Visits

(TRENTON) – New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Chief Administrator, Sharon A. Harrington, continued to mark MVC’s Centennial with a visit to the new Cardiff Motor Vehicle Agency at the Shore Mall in Atlantic County. Harrington is traveling the state touring MVC facilities, as well as planning to join school bus and other inspection teams on-site throughout the year, to meet with staff and customers.

"These visits are an excellent way to see first-hand how effective our improvements are and to solicit feedback," said Harrington. "Speaking with both MVC employees and the customers who utilize our services helps ensure that the commission is continually addressing the primary issues of customer service and security."

The Cardiff Agency, which opened to the public in January 2006, is nearly twice the size of the previous local facility and features increased customer space, more comfortable furniture and other customer-friendly amenities that showcase MVC’s commitment to customer service. Located at 6725 Black Horse Pike in the Shore Mall, this facility is among a growing number of renovated or new agencies around the state, including in Toms River and Manahawkin in Ocean County, the Camden Agency in Camden County, and the Mount Holly Agency in Burlington County.

The Motor Vehicle Commission licenses motorists at 45 locations around the state. In 2006, MVC expects a record number of license renewals at those agencies. Motorists should visit their local motor vehicle agency mid-week and mid-month to avoid the typical rush at the end and beginning of each month.

Another way to avoid the end- and beginning-of-the-month rush at MVC agencies is to complete almost one dozen transactions online at www.njmvc.gov. Renew your registration, pay a restoration fee or parking ticket, order your driver history and obtain personalized plates, all in the comfort of your home.
