MVC Chief Addresses Traffic Officers;
Praises NJPTOA For Its Counsel

(ATLANTIC CITY) – Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) Chairman and Chief Administrator Raymond P. Martinez today addressed representatives of New Jersey’s law enforcement community at the 25th Anniversary Police Security Expo where he praised the New Jersey Police Traffic Officers’ Association (NJPTOA) for its commitment to highway safety and its guidance on critical motor vehicle issues.

“The advice, suggestions and counsel I receive is very important to the MVC given the need to balance fiscal responsibility, customer service, security and safety,” said Martinez in his remarks at the annual meeting of the Association, which is held in conjunction with the expo.

Martinez used the NJPTOA meeting as an opportunity to highlight the latest security measures introduced by the MVC such as the new, security-enhanced Digital Driver License that contains expanded features designed to prevent fraud. He also discussed the various motor vehicle issues including inspections, license plates, motorcycle law changes and updates to the MVC’s core computer system.

MVC personnel regularly attend monthly meetings of the NJPTOA, as well as with the law enforcement community through its Law Enforcement Partners Meeting. The meetings offer an opportunity to develop and discuss initiatives, gather input on proposals, discuss specific cases related to motor vehicle issues and maintain a strong relationship that help to further protect the residents of the Garden State.
