Christie Administration Announces Expansion of E-ZPass Program
(TRENTON) – New Jerseyans from all parts of the state who are looking to make their next trip down the Parkway or over a bridge to a neighboring state much easier need to look no further than the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC), where the sale of E-ZPass-on-the-Go kits today expands to three northern agencies.
MVC agencies in Newark, Bayonne and Rahway now join the Salem, Turnersville, West Deptford, Hazlet, Manahawkin and Rio Grande agencies as retail locations for the kits. Since the sale of these kits began in September 2012, roughly 450 have been sold.
The prepackaged On-the-Go kit, available for $31, contains everything a motorist needs to begin using E-ZPass immediately after purchase. Prior to the MVC becoming an E-ZPass On-the-Go retailer, the kits were only available at travel plazas along the Garden State Parkway, New Jersey Turnpike and Atlantic City Expressway and at the Atlantic City Welcome Center.
E-ZPass On-the-Go is for private accounts and passenger vehicles only. E-ZPass is currently accepted wherever the E-ZPass logo is displayed, including on the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, the Atlantic City Expressway and at all Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Delaware crossings.
