Richard Vohden is currently serving as Sussex County Freeholder Director. He has been a member of the Green Township Environmental Committee since 1996, and has served as Chairman since 1999. He was a member of the Green Township Planning Board for 15 years and a member and past chairman of the Township Open Space Committee. He served for 7 years as Chairman of The Sussex County Open Space Committee, 7 years as a member and past Chairman of the Sussex County Planning Board, and as a member of the County Strategic Growth Committee.

Freeholder Vohden has been farming in Green Township since 1983, full time for the last 18 years. Prior to farming, he worked for 35 years in the construction industry; the last 17 years managing a commercial subcontracting company.

Mr. Vohden is a veteran, having served 16 months in Korea. He is a member of the Green Township Historical Society, the New Jersey Farm Bureau, the NJ Forestry Association, and the League of Municipalities.
