Training Programs

The Training Bureau develops and administers homeland security and preparedness training throughout New Jersey in disciplines that include counter-terrorism, critical infrastructure assessment, intelligence and preparedness.

NJLearn - E-learning Online Training

An online e-learning management system (LMS) with relevant computer-based training, accessible through the Internet to target audiences (primarily sworn and certified first responders) throughout the state. The LMS is also a complete records management system for OHSP.

Instructor-led Training

The Training Bureau directly trains, facilitates and/or co-sponsor instructor-led courses to personnel from federal, state, county and local agencies from all first responders  disciplines and the private sector, leading to enhanced capabilities in response to man-made and natural disasters.

DHS Consortium

The Training Bureau is the state coordinator for the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium through which the US Department of Homeland Security identifies, develops, test and delivers training to first responders.

NJ Regional Intelligence Academy

The Training Bureau is a key component in the RIA, which is a joint project by OHSP, NJSP, and the UASI region and equally responsible for providing intelligence training curriculum across multi-jurisdictional and multi-disciplinary boundaries.

Briefings and Outreach

The Terrorism Awareness & Prevention program was developed in response to numerous requests from the public and private sector for a “basic awareness” program and has been approved by US Dept. of Homeland Security.
