In late February 2009, Governor Jon Corzine announced a new $2 million training program that will prepare high school graduates for hundreds of green-collar jobs. Isles, a Trenton community development organization, has created the Center for Energy and Environmental Training to train people with the skills to tackle such jobs as solar-panel installation, energy audits and other "green" jobs. The new center will ensure, among other things, that residents of Trenton and other cities throughout the state have access to the green-collar jobs that are expected to be important building blocks in the economic recovery and reshaping of the state's economy. The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development also announced that its Green Job Training Program has received a $300,000 grant from New Jersey Resources' Conserve to Preserve Foundation.
